Labour-power is a peculiar commodity, the only one whose use-value is to produce exchange-value: that is why the capitalist seeks it, and why the worker must sell it.

Labour is that particular consumption of the body which leaves no trace: like the bread he eats, the worker who produces every day is reconstituted out of what he consumes every day.
